Hangzhou

 

We had a great 2 days in Hangzhou.  We got to tour West Lake by boat and on foot.  West Lake is said to be heaven on earth, it’s very beautiful.  We then toured Lingyin temple.  It is a large Buddhism temple with 4 large halls.  We couldn’t take pictures inside the temple.  The photo of the Buddha’s carved into the side of mountain is outside the temple.  It is said that this large stone side is unlike the surrounding landscape so it must have been sent here from India for this temple.  In order to keep it at the temple and keep it from flying back to India they carved more then 200 Buddha’s on the large stone. We finished our 2 days in Hangzhou with a tour of tea fields, and a tea lesson.
